Sam Terrell NYC - Lighting Designer

Sam Terrell (she/her/hers) is a lighting designer and assistant dually based out of New York City and San Diego, California. She loves to work with people who love to laugh.

Sam has worked with a variety of companies including Playwrights Horizons, Moonlight Stage Productions, College Light Opera Company, EPIC Players, Classic Theatre Maryland, Seven Angels Theatre, and Paul Bunyan Playhouse. She is a retired stage manager and also dabbled in Talent Wrangling for television, working on NBC's Deal or No Deal Island Season 2 and Password Season 3. She has "wrangled" celebrities such as Parvati Shallow, Dr. Will Kirby, The Miz, and Boston Rob Mariano.

With a personal goal to continuously grow creatively and collaboratively, she has sought out opportunities to observe award-winning lighting designers such as Heather Gilbert, Tyler Micoleau, Jane Cox, Amanda Zieve, Kevin Adams, Isabella Byrd, Ken Billington, and more on their various projects. Sam works hard to implement her learnings into her future endeavors, and is undoubtably fueled by a desire to succeed in doing the work she loves.

Some of her likes include dressing warmer than necessary, dogs, google sheets, playful sarcasm, and the word “kabuki.” Dislikes include olives, coffee shops without enough tables, and Ticketmaster fees. In her spare time you can find her hanging out with dogs, watching reality television, crocheting, or spending time with her lovely friends.
