AND AWAY WE GO, written by Terrance McNally, is a play which focuses on the theatrical world throughout 6 opposing time periods in vastly different locations: 458 b.c. at the Theatre of Dionysus in Greece, 1610 at the Old Globe in London, 1789 in the Royal Theatre in France, 1896 at the Moscow Art Theatre in Russia, 1956 at the Coconut Grove Playhouse in Florida, and in the modern day at a resident theatre company.
I used the back diagonals as a consistent representation of location, as we move constantly throughout these 6 worlds. The farther from reality, the brighter the scene. The closer to reality, the darker and more desaturated.
A big note I got throughout this show was - I liked that, but can you make it look like a mistake? This was one of the more unique and interesting challenges I have had to date.

NOTE: I design lighting for the eye, not for the camera. Please know that not all shots are true to reality.
