ROCK THE HILL is an annual event put on by the Mission Vista Music Department. ROCK THE HILL features student and non-student bands from a variety of different genres, and gives them a set at this highly attended event, usually garnering 500-800 attendees.
Featured on the quad, the plot consisted of 2 follow spots, 3 ground cycs focused on the back wall, 3 ground cycs for front uplight, 2 moving light fixtures, and 2 lighting trees with 4 small PAR cans. The band provides the designer a color in which they certainly wanted featured in each song. It was my job, as the designer, to implement said color and make it work with the mood of each piece.
ROCK THE HILL is a super fun event, programmed half in advance, with the other half being done on the fly. It was an immensely rewarding and incredibly fun event to be a part of.
